The CW version certainly has a lot of drawbacks that could use fixing, but the new version looks like 1 step forward, 1 step back in a lot of ways. They posted official pics of Hook and Long Haul and while the latter definitely looks a lot better, Hook still looks bad to me, with the same problems as CW with sad little elbow hinges, weird proportions, and the feet looking nothing like the original. I almost wonder if instead of trying for a true SS86 approach they just cribbed off the CW mold. I think I'll hold off and see how the reviews shake out on the finished thing and hopefully aim for an eventual giftset if it's good.

I would assume a toy-centric Boxset like they did for Menasor is in the cards for both Superion and Devastator.

They could tempt me with a toy style Devastator. They'd have to do a thorough job of it, but I'm open to it.

I was considering the toy style Menasor box set (but the price is well above what I can comfortably swing and then local options disappeared), and am considering Silverbolt to display as a solo Superion (but this might well fall through and the money will just go to Star Convoy).

But Devastator, while very tempting for how good the individuals look, doesn't seem like something I urgently need to chase.

I am continuing my plan of buying 2 of the Constructicons. I anticipate secondary market prices to jack up after about a year or so.
I know many aren't happy about these combiner 'frames' that the current design team is working with, but we've had quite a few combiners all with different design aesthetics before. I appreciate the differences in each and what the design team is trying to do. While none are what I'd call my perfect version, I think these seem cool enough in their own right. And I expect that when people talk about how much fun they're having with them and how they all look together, there's going to be many people with regrets.
I'd like to be in a position to monetize that regret.

With how similar they are to the CW molds, I'm getting a set mostly to just keep in their robot modes, while keeping my SDCC Devastator on display.

I'm keeping the two I have preordered but after seeing the unofficial Devastator that integrates all the combiner parts into the base robots, I'm going in on that one. Even if the arms and legs bots swapped places.

This is the main thing that's tempting me about any of these. Some are lateral moves, but the others seem to be at least a bit better.

I hope both yes and no. I'd love to get both. But I know I shouldn't spend anywhere near that much money on repaints. But I also know I'd be so disappointed if they existed and I didn't get them. So I really hope they do get made this time around, and I also really hope they don't to spare me having to make that decision!

Well, I was just thinking I don't really know if I need a green version, but f they do some kind of fun other colors version, I might bite. Course, being the sucker that I am, I may end up getting the regular version anyway.

I would almost certainly get G2 Yellow and SG Colors.

A redeco would admittedly be easier to talk myself into getting, as it's one more thing the original doesn't offer.
