Xenoblade 1,2, and 3 are all connected. Xenoblade Chronicles X is, as far as we know, not connected. Whatever additional content we get with the Definitive Edition of XCX may change that.

Xenoblade is kind of like Phantasy Star or Dragon Quest. They're mostly self-contained, but there are references to past games and events. Mostly as background lore.

I wonder if they'll change it so you can start flying a mech suit before putting 160 hours into the game first.

Makes sense:
GB > GBA
GBA> DS
DS> 3DS
Gamecube> Wii
Wii> Wii U
Switch was a fresh start, a hybrid.
Those rumors of a 'souped up' Breath of the Wild being demoed to developers were probably true and a hint Nintendo's invested in some enhanced backwards compatibility to optimize select Switch games like both those Zelda games and Super Mario Odyssey.

Happy Brothership Day! I'm picking mine up after work. I know the reviews are mixed mainly when compared to the previous games' controls; but I only really played Bowser's Inside Story, and was annoyed by Luigi's controls, so I think I won't have any complaints.

Update: Brothership is awesome. I love the animation, combat and humor. Not sure what the reviewers are talking about; it controls like I remember Bowser’s Inside Story controlling. The graphics are also amazing. I love the art style and how expressive Mario & Luigi are.

TMM and I started Lego Horizon today. It's pretty darn silly. There's a lot of customization available for your characters, but for now we're spending it mostly on skill upgrades. We're on default difficulty, our team only died once so far. We're also shooting each other a lot, and sometimes it's on accident.

Oh, it's deliberate 90% of the time. Erend's my fave to play, so easy to knock TMM off a cliff (but also easy to run off, too).

I haven't had an Nintendo since N64.

Most games have turned up on Play Station.

My problem is that the selection on the aps doesn't warrent buying in.

I loved the mobility of the DS series, and currently, the Switch Lite. Easy to bring with me and play during down time at work or when away from home. The Switch is my preferred console for that alone.

Got Marvel vs Capcom today on Switch Im happy button lag on Chun-Li is still an issue so lighting leg kicks dont trigger properly (thats been an issue for most of theses ports) but you can assign just that move to a button so it negates it)

I pre-ordered back when it was announced, and got to pick it up yesterday, too.!

Man, that comic book is tiny.

I hadn't noticed any lag when I played it, myself, but then again, I was mainly using the special moves button stuff, since the Switch's Dpads are nowhere near precise enough for me to want to try to engage in real competitive traditional play. I was going to get an adapter for my Xbox controller to play this version before they announced it would be coming to Xbox after all, albeit next year.

Meh, they're Mushrooms. Once you break the spell and the shattered pieces of the bricks turn back into Mushroom-flesh, the rubble just buds off into Toads and they become their own, separate entities. Basically, they're all "brothers". This is how they reproduce. Which explains why there's so many more Toads in later Mario games.

....Goodness, could you imagine if that was actually canon?

I mean, if we were going by lore, isn't Mario killing citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom every time he breaks a brick?
As I recall, it's that every citizen was turned into a brick, stone, or field horsehair plant.

Not that every brick, stone, etc. is a citizen.

Further, I think the general implication might be that whenever you hit a ? block or a brick and a mushroom, etc. comes out, that's you freeing a MK citizen.

That's sorta changed over the years, I think.

That said, the opening to Super Mario Galaxy felt like a cool, modernized callback to the idea:
