Uh, there's been no confirmation yet that the show is entirely over. Season 1 can be put up on YouTube (and Netflix) because it's well and done, but you won't see them putting up anything post-Season 1 on YouTube until it's official that the whole show is finished.

Same thing happened with other previous TF shows getting their first seasons put on Netflix while the later seasons were still airing new episodes on TV channels.

This may not prove that Earthspark is dead but it probably is.

We know that there were almost certainly more episodes done that havnt come out yet. This doesn't in anyway suggest they won't. (They might not, but last we heard they were and this doesn't really counter that...)

-ZacWilliam, is there going to be another season beyond the "already-produced stuff we havnt seen" being called a "Season" in streaming? Almost certainly not but I don't think anyone expected one.

Hasbro hasn't exactly been good at clean and definitive endings, as our mutuals in the pony fandom will attest to.

Clean and definitive endings, perhaps not. Or at the very least, I'd suggest we don't always get satisfying endings. But aside from the movie series, where they're always trying to plant seeds for another movie to get greenlit, when have we simply not gotten an ending at all?

G1, BW, BWII, BW Neo, BM, RiD 2001, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Animated, Prime, RiD 2015, PWT, WfC, Cyberverse... They've all had clear endings. They've all left some doors open, and there have been a few follow-ups here and there. But they've all hit a point where a final episode aired, and it was clear that the series was over, finished. I've never watched the Rescue Bots shows, but I'm guessing they fit the pattern.

Earthspark really hasn't had that yet. The last episode to air was very much a mid-season mini climax, but didn't even attempt to close out the series. Given the episode patterns, it's pretty clear there were another eight episodes planned. And I'm pretty sure there were comments from the voice actors implying they'd recorded a second season equivalent to the first season, which has apparently been broken up into three mini-seasons for actual broadcast. And I believe the Hasbro presentations we saw a while back indicated there were three batches of episodes planned to air after season 1.

The point is, we have every reason to expect one more batch of episodes is coming. The only way they wouldn't is if they went as far as writing and recording the episodes, but then just halted production in the middle of the "season 2" batch. Sure, that's possible. Weirder things have happened. But I can't think of any such situation having happened for any TF show before.

The Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, Victory, Go!, Portal, and even the low-quality web series Cyber Missions, too.

Not only did Rescue Bots fit the pattern, but they made sure that all four of its season finales could have sufficed as a proper season finale (well, its third and fourth season finales, at the very least).

Rescue Bots Academy, on the other hand, while both of its season finales were satisfying ends for each season, the Season 2 finale didn't really feel like a proper series finale. It felt like the proper conclusion of Season 2, but also felt like they wanted to do another season, but that didn't happen. Still, it was a good ending for the season.

BotBots also had a proper two-part finale for its single season, but it also ended with a surprise cliffhanger at the last second that would have probably been continued had it got another season, but it never did so the twist cliffhanger remains unresolved.

Oh, crap. I thought I'd heard it was done and over with?

O-kay, edit time...

Edit: Okay, hopefully that's a little more accurate.

First season had 26 episodes, released in 3 chunks of 10, 8 and 8.

Second season, which several of us swear we saw was said to also be 26 episodes but nobody can find confirmation of that right now, started with 10 episodes like S1, but then the next 8 episodes got labeled "Season 3" even though they are obviously just the second chunk of S2 episodes. It's believed there's a final eight episode chunk that will be released as S4 but there's been no confirmation of that.

Does anyone who works on that show answer questions on social media?
