And it seems that's not simply the Takara version of the Hashtag toy. There are several details that don't line up and the backpack, at least, is different.

So it's instead a new mold altogether but one that looks very similar in appearance to the Takara Hashtag toy.

I've had decent luck finding Earthspark at Targets. Walmart seemed like they were clearing it out, but there's still a hook for Deluxes. If I can't find a preorder online, there's at least some hope they'll show up sometime...

All my Walmarts carry an excess of old EarthSpark toys that nobody wants (tons of Deluxe Megatrons and the gimmick toys), while all my Targets barely carry any EarthSpark toys anymore, and what little they have left is just the same old stuff that Walmart has in abundance.

FWIW, My local Walmart was starting to mark down some leftover Earthspark stuff. Megatron was down to $12, Bumblebee was $17? Plus Tacticons were getting marked down as well. Stores will probably be doing a big reset this spring for summer movie toy build up and brand refreshing.

In terms of new stuff? Comicbook.com got the "scoop" on new Earthspark products: Official reveals for the 1 Step Smash Changers, Deluxe Hashtag and Soundwave, and revealing a new Optimus Prime with trailer set. These include full promo images, showing Hashtag to be a new mold (with similarities to the prior figures).
The Optimus Prime set features a retooled Warrior figure (the action ax function is seemingly gone) and a new trailer with light up projectile blaster. This is an all new set, with no reuse from the current trailer set (itself a rerun from Cyberverse). The blaster also correlates to some of the art we saw in the leaked "brand presentation" slides several months back (which also featured a look at Mirage).

As a heads up, I don't know when they were added or how long they've been there, but Netflix added the remaining eight episodes of EarthSpark Season 1, which were missing when the first 18 eps were originally added to Netflix. So now the entire first season is up and on there to watch.

Assuming there are even 8 more episodes. Was it ever confirmed that S2 was going to be 26 episodes before being broken up into smaller seasons, or are we all just making educated assumptions?

I honestly can't remember, but I'd say many of us here are very educated.

Especially since the latest episode didn't feel anything like a proper series conclusion like the season 1 finale did. There are still some loose ends to tie up, like Shockwave and the other Decepticons escaping back to Cybertron. The Autobots have to find a way to get back since the planet is now in more danger than before.

I swear to god they said somewhere that S2 was 26 episodes (Split 10-8-8 like S1 was) but I'll be damned if I can find it now.
Same here. It feels like there was something said somewhere, but I presently can't prove that it's more than just a feeling deep in my gut.

I believe it's an educated wish at this point.
