What I want to know is, was the original 'second' season going to be 26 episodes?

With 10 episodes in "Season 2" and 8 in "Season 3", I'm thinking we might get an 8 episode "Season 4" if the production order was for 26 episodes.

I asked Z Infante at TFCon about it and he responded: "I don't know. Would be cool." (paraphrased)

It more than likely will be 8 more episodes as both the "finales" for "Season 2" and "Season 3" felt like big climaxes but not proper conclusions like how Season 1's finale did.

I get the feeling we'll see more of Shockwave as Decepticon leader in the next episode batch as the race episode between Bumblebee and Breakdown seemed like it was hinting as more to come from Shockwave, showing him to be a very patient and diplomatic leader who makes long-term plans by biding his time both civilly and subtly in order to keep his enemies unaware of his planning. He's up to something, I can feel it.

Started season 2 with the kids.

Not digging Aftermath so far. Way too OP, IMO.

Love the fair episode. The first time that they feel his emotions was epic! It got over used, but it was great at first. Cosmos being voiced by Weird Al was great! I hope that we see more of him this season. Loved the Magician villain.

We finished season 2 yesterday. I liked the first season a lot better than season 2, but season 2 had some great episodes. Still not sure what happened to the shards, but Aftermath and crossfire(?) got what they deserved. I wished that we got to see the Titan transform.

Started watching season 3, and it's neat so far.

Overall series spoilers
Izzy being a Quintesson shape shifter was a hard blow, but I really enjoyed the running gag of the Terrans feeling Robbie's feelings for her.

Loved Weird Al voicing Cosmos, even if he was barely in the show.

Megatron was great in this. I love that they gave him a Scottish accent, and I love his character and design in this show. I especially like the chin "M".

Loved seeing the Terrans merge with the titan at the end.

Kind of surprised that they brought back the Chaos Terrans, but they did prove useful.

I feel like ES Megatron is the only Megatron voice that works for IDW1 Megs.

I dunno, Chris McFeely's video where he used Corey Burton's Animated Megatron voice for IDW1 Megs was pretty good:

Well, he did an amazing job with the character. His best episode was probably the Hate Plague episode. Him being able to resist it for a time was great.
I also liked the new spin on the plague, presenting it now as a biological weapon specifically created to infect Autobots and Decepticons as opposed to any and all lifeforms. Keeps it from getting out of hand that way. More controlled as a weapon.

Eh... different strokes I guess.
Burton's Megs was more menacing. His pretences of fighting Autobot oppression sounded more like a fascist than a freedom fighter, using populist rhetoric cynically.

IDW1 Megs was a genuine freedom fighter who fell into the trap of authoritarianism and the atrocities that stem from that. While I maintain that trying to redeem him was a massive misstep given his litany of crimes, I do feel as if his origins as an activist with a sincere desire to fight a corrupt system match McCann's portrayal.

It helps that ES Megs has a very similar trajectory re: moral alignments to IDW1 Megs.

Yeah both are "Oops, My bad. I accidentally did a tyranny. I'm sorry." :p

Pretty much everything that Earthspark borrowed from previous series was great.

Out of all the stray lines of world-building from IDW1, "Soundwave's anti-neutral pogroms" still terrifies me to this day.

I just finished watching all of the show that's out so far. Feels kinda crazy, but I realized that this is the first time I've been all caught up on a current TF show since RiD2015. Maybe even since Prime. o_O

Out of all the stray lines of world-building from IDW1, "Soundwave's anti-neutral pogroms" still terrifies me to this day.
Maybe I either misinterpreted or am misremembering, but didn't it turn out that Soundwave never actually did that? I could have sworn he explicitly denied it at some point. I know there was a plot point in Sins of the Wreckers where Prowl and Tarantulas had bombed a neutral city and framed the Decepticons to get the survivors to join the Autobots. I had come away with the impression that Soundwave had just been the fall guy for their activities.
