It's a 'look at me' bill. No chance of it passing, just trying to throw meat to his base of bigots in an attempt to get re-elected. Like a lot of the junk the 'freedom caucus' proposes in US Congress. Best to keep an eye on it because of some of the garbage that Florida has passed, but I'd wager the chance of this passing are slim to none.

This is really hard. I initially thought that the Tesla boycott would be a lot of hot air like boycotts always are, but Tesla is clearly feeling it and their stock is tanking. And it is clearly known to be because of his support for Trump and work with DOGE.

So today the President of the United States came out on the lawn with the First Buddy to make a public endorsement of a brand. A brand that is sinking because of...its association with him. Hrm... Let's see if this helps.

The only angle I can think of is that it gets diehard redhats to buy a Tesla because the Fuhrer said so, but then you run into one of the really weird conflicts that has been buzzing in my head all year. I don't think a redhat is buying an EV. Haven't they been too hard trained against it?

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

It'll make trumps cult want to buy tesla's. They also can't afford them, so over all: popularity will rise, but the stocks will continue to drop.

A lot more Trumpers are well-off or at least comfortably middle class than you might think. They're the ones buying $50,000 pickup trucks that they only use to drive to the supermarket and church, after all.

And for those below that income bracket, there's always the ever-growing supply of used ones from all the people who bought them purely for the sake of virtue signaling and now need a new way to do that, and the prices on those keep dropping.
