What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

It's a 'look at me' bill. No chance of it passing, just trying to throw meat to his base of bigots in an attempt to get re-elected. Like a lot of the junk the 'freedom caucus' proposes in US Congress. Best to keep an eye on it because of some of the garbage that Florida has passed, but I'd wager the chance of this passing are slim to none.

This is really hard. I initially thought that the Tesla boycott would be a lot of hot air like boycotts always are, but Tesla is clearly feeling it and their stock is tanking. And it is clearly known to be because of his support for Trump and work with DOGE.

So today the President of the United States came out on the lawn with the First Buddy to make a public endorsement of a brand. A brand that is sinking because of...its association with him. Hrm... Let's see if this helps.

The only angle I can think of is that it gets diehard redhats to buy a Tesla because the Fuhrer said so, but then you run into one of the really weird conflicts that has been buzzing in my head all year. I don't think a redhat is buying an EV. Haven't they been too hard trained against it?

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

It'll make trumps cult want to buy tesla's. They also can't afford them, so over all: popularity will rise, but the stocks will continue to drop.

A lot more Trumpers are well-off or at least comfortably middle class than you might think. They're the ones buying $50,000 pickup trucks that they only use to drive to the supermarket and church, after all.

And for those below that income bracket, there's always the ever-growing supply of used ones from all the people who bought them purely for the sake of virtue signaling and now need a new way to do that, and the prices on those keep dropping.

Yep, here's the Commerce Secretary saying that seniors won't care if they don't get their social security and anyone who does is a fraudster:

FB friend:
Republicans think derogatory generalizations about underprivileged groups are both hilarious and true ... until you go after the uneducated.
Republicans, you are seriously wasting your breath when you try to make people feel bad about Tesla dealerships being vandalized. You can't celebrate cruelty while demanding empathy, you goddamned hypocritical pieces of jive.

Empathy should be treated like tolerance: it should be viewed as a social contract. If you don't agree to participate in it, then you don't deserve its protection. SS concentration camp guards did not deserve empathy because they didn't show any. The same applies to you.
Republicans: we represent the working class!

Also Republicans: AOC used to work as a waitress? LOL, what a loser.

So I hadn't ever heard, but I presume that the air traffic controllers when the plane and the helicopter collided was a white man. Because Vance went out to say the President didn't mean that the person at the controls was a DEI hire. He meant that the air traffic controllers were short-staffed because people were being turned away for DEI reasons.

On what planet does DEI cause you to be short staffed? Someone catch me up? Is it like "We can't find a brown person or a little person who wants the job, but we think one will show up some time, so we're gonna hold the spot for them"?

If a reporter asked Vance, "Are you saying that the Biden administration preferred to not fill a job when all the qualified applicants were white?" would he be willing to say yes to that?

The air traffic controllers were short staffed because they had just fired all the non-white air traffic controllers. That's the timeline here. The DEI reasons is the ranks were depleted cause the maga chuds are ******* racist.

But they have now and we're seeing massive issues, including airports being shut down because they just don't have the staff.
Air traffic controllers really do seem to be the canary in the coalmine as far as occupations. Look at what Reagan did to them.

It's a high stress job made worse by being political pawns. They were shortstaffed before this particular political entanglement. Now they're destitute. I would highly recommend people take cars instead of planes when and where they can.

Nah, there are exploding Teslas on the road that they might run into. Best to just never leave the house again, honestly. As an added bonus you'll never have to worry about catching the next avoidable pandemic that decimates our population and no one else's.

There aren't that many of those cybercucks, I mean trucks, on the road at this point. The recalls, along with the fact that they look like a hemorrhoid riddled asshole, have kept them from really spreading too far.

But, I also live in Kansas where we don't have much e car infrastructure so your mileage may vary.

I’ve seen a Tesla and Cybertruck buzzing around here in southwest Oklahoma, but I suspect it’s some knob(s) from the military base(s) driving those since, like Rhinox, Oklahoma probably has even LESS e car infrastructure.
Truks and burnin’ dead dinos, baby!

Saw one on the road the other day, which was only the third time I've seen one actually being driven up here in RI. Seen plenty on the back of flatbed tow trucks, though. Every time it still surprises me just how damned ugly they are.
