I'm disappointed. No one ever thinks of the middle ground. "Wander in and out of your house indecisively and wallow in mediocrity.", A REAL slogan for our times!
I am trying so damn hard not to make the political joke aimed at the democrats here. So, please insert your own punchline here.
yeah, I know, keep it in P&R.

In all seriousness, things don't seem too horribly terrible for Hasbro right now. They have a plan, they're adjusting and moving forward. We'll see what comes next.

I think they made the right move in dropping cost sharing with studios making licensed films. That's entirely prudent, especially with the post-pandemic/current streaming-informed media landscape having such different stakes.

I don't recall a wave of layoffs from the end of 2024, unlike as 2023 ended? I hope that's right and that such a lack continues. Cost-cutting with packaging and whatnot I can get behind, but this sort of thing not so much.

Still want a metallic blue-violet Cyclonus, and they REALLY need to start package refreshing Hot Rod. But yeah, what else is there really for 86? More dead guys?

I think the last thing Hasbro really needs is to start living like me...

To say nothing of Paramount not bringing their A game to promotion and marketing these things.

But they released a music video that has only snippets of any visual connection to the movie. That's marketing, right?

Expected, but still not fun. Negotiating 'lower production costs'. Wonderful. QC was a lottery as-is...

This is one we can't exactly lay at Hasbro's feet. Everyone's gotta try and make the best out of the Orange f***'s rampage.

Pretty much.
This is not unexpected. It's the reason I've splurged a lot more than I typically would the past month. Prices are going to skyrocket. We'll see if any of the blame lands at the right altar.

Reminder that the majority of their factories are in VIETNAM and Chris Cocks is just looking for a reason to hike prices because he's a greedy bastard.

I took advantage of the Pulse sale a while back to get some extra stuff, so I'd be set for my nephew's birthday whatever happens.

Gonna just repost something I said on TFW.

One thing about tariffs is that they, by design, are intended to increase demand for products in other regions. The thing about increased demand is that it can cause prices to rise as supply is stretched thinner.

That said, I'm not sure this directly applies to whatever production pipeline Hasbro has for Transformers, but consider that the more companies that move their operations to Vietnam, the greater demand there will be for Vietnamese labor, facilities and shipping, which will cause the cost of those things to increase, and those costs will almost certainly be passed on to the consumer.

You get a price hike! And you get a price hike! Everyone gets a price hike!

My favorite response to this so far has been someone saying this is good because it'll move toy production back to the US.

Because, y'know, they didn't move production out of the US for being more expensive than elsewhere.

I'm close to being done anyway.

After the combiners I just need the last few Mini-Bots and I'm golden, especially since Lio-Kaiser is happening right before the sh*t hits the fan.
