Define "get away with." Hard for there to be consequences when the people you're pissing off no longer have a way to remove you from office.
You don't put down coups at the ballot box.

Who is "People" in this instance. I mean to you? I think you're going to find that Harris didn't call any governors asking for more votes. I haven't heard that she files any suits to throw out ballots or stop counting some ballots or demand a recount. She isn't saying that there was fraud or cheating. There was no widespread fraud in 2020 or 2024. People need to stop with this nonsense. All it does is destabilize peoples’ faith in the electoral process. We are better than this.
The weekend help a little bit.All of the House seats that NBC called during the night were consistent with my county model.
NBC Calls: 200 Blue, 211 Red
My Calls: 5 Blue, 7 Red ----> 205 - 218, which just edges GOP control
12 Seats too close to call lean 7 Blue, 5 Red ---------> My best guess is 212 - 223, a net gain of 2 seats for the Republicans.
Not me, but it's never not a good thing to keep pointing out that the Republicans are disingenuous about this, and that 2020 wasn't won (or lost, if you're GOP) by fraud, either. So, are we expecting him to confess that Trump won because of voting fraud? Or to be so petty as to accuse us of fraud because he didn't win by more?
My understanding was that, anytime a candidate gets 50%+ of the popular vote, that's a mandate. We now know that Trump will have won the popular vote, but it might still be a mere plurality if third party candidates got enough. Also Trump's popular vote lead has shrunk to less than 4 million. It's hardly a mandate. He's winning by about 2.4 to 2.5% Heck, even Biden won a larger percentage of the popular vote in 2020, Last time we saw a candidate even break 5 points was Obama in 2008.
Hillary Clinton didn't seem to have a mandate. My understanding was that, anytime a candidate gets 50%+ of the popular vote, that's a mandate. We now know that Trump will have won the popular vote, but it might still be a mere plurality if third party candidates got enough.

What a surprise, what the people actually want as an alternative to right-wing populism is left-wing populism. Now if we can only find more than two or three politicians who actually support such policies and are capable of winning an election. And, so long as I'm wishful thinking, it'd be nice if they didn't also openly associate with people who support genocide...Good! This is exactly what Democrats should be doing right now -- acknowledging the people who voted against them and asking for feedback. If they ever want the White House again, they need to listen to why they didn't get it this time and (perhaps even more important) be SHOWN listening to people tell them why.
Now is not the time to be telling voters how they're dumb, or they didn't understand the situation. Now is the time to gather information without push back and consider it for two or four years down the line.
