Finally saw the Cybertron Battlers non-transforming figures at Dollar General for $5. Not worth that price. More of a chew toy, except the weapon hands might come off if you let a small child chew on them. ---Dave

Saw the Monster Treads Bumblebee at TJMaxx the other weekend, the wheels light up as they turn. Meh. Got Bravo Class Optimus Primal, it's surprisingly good (especially once you wash it to de-floppify the joints). ---Dave

There does need to be a balance between "Only these few 20C cultural things survived" (Trek), and "Everyone's making Seinfeld references" (Orville), though. Recent series (LD, SNW) have done a decent job of letting a few more 20C cultural things slip into the Trek future. ---Dave

Yeah, I watched the first episode of the current season and just couldn't make myself care enough to watch more. Season 4 was feeling kinda "Wait, we got renewed? But we didn't really have plans past S3" to me, with Aaravos himself being a Mystery Box that no one had thought much about. Now...

What concerns me tone-wise is that they're not showing Starscream to be super-eeeeeevil for maximum contrast, but so that Autobots can be pretty horrible too while still being better than the Decepticons. The contrast will still be as narrow as in the IDW days, but shifted several notches...
