He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

It just hit me, of what feels like the logic behind this is. An animated Joker voiced Skeletor in the new animated series, and that was received well. So obviously they had to hire a live action Joker for the Live action movie. Nicholson is too old, Ledger is too dead, Phoenix just bombed big time, so there's only one "big name" Joker left.

While that does make an alarming kind of since, Phoenix only bombed in one of two of his movies. The other was very highly regarded. Between Joker, Morbius... feel like I'm forgetting one...but Leto has been box office poison.

I may watch it if it's free to stream on Amazon just out of sheer morbid curiosity. But any positive expectations just went out the window.

As I said, he just bombed. But that bomb kinda taints his whole Joker. The only one Live Action Joker I can think of, that was a major character; is the one from Gotham who could never actually be called Joker. But he doesn't have the same draw. And Leto is only poison to geek stuff, Leto was in 'House of Gucci' from just a few years ago which is generally considered to be a good movie and one of his best. He was also in Fight Club and American Psycho, both well received movies.

Just did an IMDB search. That was also him in Requiem For a Dream. It's one of those movies you only ever want to watch once. Great movie, but once is enough.

And I'll be honest, no one looked good in Suicide Squad. No one looked good in Batman and Robin, but looking at the names that stared in it, I find it hard to put a whole lot of blame on the actors.

Don't get me wrong. I still have a sour feeling in the pit of my stomach just hearing Jared's name put to this. But it's also the same guy who did Bumblebee...the one live action TF movie I actually enjoyed.

I don't know. I stand by my previous statements about my hopes for this being killed. But maybe...just maybe...

Well, can't bring myself to even type the rest of that hopeful platitude. But if it's free to stream on Amazon, I may watch it just out of curiosity.

I really hope that isn't the logic, because something that stupid makes me lose hope for any other aspect of the movie coming from under such an umbrella of decision making.
