There are reasons...
why I referred to the upgraded Jurati as "Sex Bob-omb of Borg"....
Wait, is that the same actress?!? I thought Jurati looked too cute, really.

Oh yeah, Baltar from newer Battlestar Galactica! Him, I recognized. And yeah, Jean Luc's brother should have been included in the trauma.

Should I have recognized the alien conspiracy FBI guy?

---
Started S3 but only ep1. I thought Beverly Crusher looked like movie Jean Grey with Rogue's hair, haha. What's with the new intro? They know this season is special?

Seven is officially Starfleet now, ok. Might be fired tho.

That Red Lady disaster was crazy but what's the thought here? Teleporting a whole building probably uses more energy than just teleporting a bomb in there. Also why bother teleporting the building back? To break morale?

Beverly has another kid, ok. If Wesley is smart, this guy is either opposite and just adventurous instead of smart. But probably an alien experiment. S1 is Synthetics. S2 is whatever Kore is, pre Khan augment. So S3 would be some alien mutation or energy being.

I totaly didn't place her either, but I have only seen her in that one film before this show.

Oh yeah, Baltar from newer Battlestar Galactica! Him, I recognized.

I thought he nailed it as his dad. To see Picard finally unlocking the trauma in his mind and realizing that his dad wasn't the monster he made him out to be. Also, this is probably why his dad let him get away with anything, as Robert says in TNG, after Jean Luc went through this traumatic event.

And yeah, Jean Luc's brother should have been included in the trauma.

Just a simple mention that Robert was in Boarding school, that is all I am asking. His episode of TNG is the best episode of Star Trek. Period. So why ignore him in the flash backs?

Should I have recognized the alien conspiracy FBI guy?

Nope, its just a cool scene where Jean Luc learns to help others with their childhood traumas.

I can see that! Dr Crusher is lady Rambo this season. twenty+ years of being on her own has made her into an epic badass!

What's with the new intro? They know this season is special?

Yes, they know that this season will be the last for Picard, and they got a new show runner.

Seven is officially Starfleet now, ok. Might be fired tho.

I am surprised that she wasn't given her own command by now. I mean, she had 4 years of experience serving on Voyager before she got home, and then another X years in the Rangers, then her taking command of Rios' ship after the time jump.

Yeah, they just want to show off new weapons.

This kid is pretty awesome. Jack is actually the best new character that comes out of the entire Picard series. And that is saying something with the new captain we get introduced to on the Titan.

But probably an alien experiment. S1 is Synthetics. S2 is whatever Kore is, pre Khan augment. So S3 would be some alien mutation or energy being.

Keep watching. That is all I will say.

It doesn't let me see the Jurati clip. But I'm not sure if that is because I don't want to.

Nice find at the comic shop this week - scored me a Playmates TOS Romulan Warbird, from 1997! No box, but I did get to peel open 28-year-old baggies. Little bit grungy just from age, but generally in very good shape.

Good chunky slab of ship, very swooshable, and the stand is still rock solid. Yes it's the TNG+ Romulan symbol, but they didn't have one back in TOS! Yeah, it's a little plain-looking - at least until you turn it over, they got the bird deco on the ventral side quite well. Nothing a hundred-percent match to on screen, but for a toy that came out almost thirty years ago and based on one episode of a show that was almost sixty years ago...yeah, I aint complaining! And she does match up pretty well with the newer TOS Enterprise.

Gave her a quick cleanup, popped some fresh triple-As in, and the electronics are still good! The only things that light up are the bussard collectors, and red isn't exactly screen-accurate either, but both lights and all four sounds work. No on/off switch, just four buttons on the dorsal side; no voice lines, but quite serviceable versions of an engine noise, TOS cloak sound, what I presume is the plasma torpedo, and TOS phasers. Doesn't show up well in the dark compared to the Connie, but maybe that's just more fitting.

I just found one of those recently at a used game/movie/toy store as well. It was in the box, but the box was pretty water damaged. The ship and stand inside were still in good working order, though! I've always loved the TOS designs for Federation, Romulan, and Klingon ships. Despite their differences, there are definite design similarities that indicate the "physics" of warp drive was a common design constraint to engineers working completely independently on different planets.

I could go for a Playmates D7, not that they ever would. It even has redeco potential, not that they've ever done one in the modern line either. Slightly more involved than slapping a new name and number on a Connie, but I would double-dip in Klingon grey-green and Romulan ivory-with-bird.

I was disappointed to find out that they had never made a D7. I have the recent TOS Enterprise re-release, so I was really hoping to find an old D7 to "complete the set."

Ok, I continued with Picard s3 eps 3 and 4. I stopped after the ep2 revelation about Jack being Picard's son.

How did folks at that time react to it? I kinda groaned and had to stop a bit, sorry not sorry. I don't even see the resemblance (but then I didn't see the resemblance between Picard and Tom Hardy either).

Anyhow, loved Seven running around to find the Changeling. Holy cow, the Dominion is back?!?! Just a splinter faction but, yow. Their updated CGI looks fleshy now so kinda ew. They brought up Odo's bucket again, hehe.

I might have missed it but what did Riker say what his son died of?

The former captain who demoted Seven is still a jerk but he's useful and playing ball, good for him.

Cute nebula babies. Surely those have been discovered before.

So what weapon would the Dominion want thats worse than a teleporter? If they'll be poetic about it, it'll be some sort of virus that will wipe out humanoids. But Picard also brought up the 'stranded on a planet with the alien he had to learn the language of' part. Maybe it's a device that can destroy communication between races.

Still distracted that Beverly Crusher looks Jean Grey with Rogue hair.

Honestly, most of the people I heard from were too distracted by the character assassination of Beverly.

The whole "hide Jean-Luc's son to protect him because you think Jean-Luc's a cold-hearted jerk" flies in the face of literally their ENTIRE relationship since "Encounter at Farpoint."

(Myself, I was mainly pleased because Jack is the right age to be the alt-timeline version of René, from the novels. Who could also decide to go by "Jacques/Jack.")

I have no idea what that is, but he does look like René, doesn't he?
In the novel timeline, Picard and Beverly got married and had a son, René (Jacques Robert François) Picard in 2381.

(Given his age, Jack would also have been born around 2381.)

My thoughts on this were WOOOOOOOOOTTTTT!!!! I mean, if Picard had a love child with someone, it needed to be Beverly. Plus, with the death of his brother Robert and nephew Renee, the Picard family doesn't end with Jean Luc now. We have a young Picard, bold and brash as a young Jean Luc, racing around the galaxy with his mom, running guns and medical supplies.

Here is my actual comments on it when it aired:

I for one loved the way that Jack's parentage was revealed. Riker trying to be as gentle as he could about it, while Picard not willing to let himself believe it. It wasn't until this silent moment between him and Beverly that he instantly knows the truth, which causes him to jump into action. I am ecstatic for Picard to have a son, and especially with Beverly. His family line will go on with this brash young man, and I don't feel so bad about him losing his family in Generations now. Maybe now that Picard has worked through his demons in season 2, he can actually try to be a father now to Jack, despite him being grown up when Picard meets him.

I might have missed it but what did Riker say what his son died of?

He had a rare condition, one that could have been cured if they hadn't got rid of all the androids. Just another reason for him to want to blast the Romulans in Season 1. I love that they keep bringing him up this season. There is a line in the final episode about him that always gets me right int he heart.

The former captain who demoted Seven is still a jerk but he's useful and playing ball, good for him.

Shaw, Sidney, and Jack and the only great characters introduced in all three seasons of Picard. As the show keeps going, you will love Shaw more and more.

Cute nebula babies. Surely those have been discovered before.

They are very similar to the creatures that we saw in the first TNG episode, encounter at Farpoint. In fact they might actually be the same species. I loved that Beverly was the one that figure out a way to save them.

She has a good look for this series.

Personally, I saw her logic there. Picard was the face of Star Fleet, had just survived an assassination attempt, and they had just gone back into friends mode for the fourth time. Add on the trauma of her losing Wesley to his job of keeping the timeline in order, and she makes a very rash decision to try to keep her baby safe. Now, I don't agree that she should have kept him a secret for all those years, but they had to explain his absence in the first two seasons somehow.

I'm not wild about the secret love child (seriously? Don't they have super advanced contraceptives in the future? Did Beverly unconsciously want a child after Wesley left?) but I do like how Jack can continue the Picard bloodline legitimately.

Saw the next three eps.

Screw me, they reintroduced Ro then killed her?!?!?! WTFerengi?!?!

The semi heist thing in Daystrom was cool. The Data combo reveal was... weird. Leave him alone already, if he really wanted to die then. Moriarty was great but it wasn't the original holo, oh well. Just great that Riker remembered the whistle.

Deanna? A changeling, c'mooooon. Tuvok was awesome to see, hehe.

I'm not into Vedic and her screeches voice. Could have had a cooler cool hunter person.

I'm assuming the sickness Jack has is the one clone Tom Hardy had in the Next Gen movie. Dunno what his mind control powers are but whatever. Boo on the stolen corpse! I thought it would be a super weapon whatever.

Three eps to go.

That is a complicated thing. The Data that you are talking about had been kind of living in a prison for 20 years and that whole thing was contrived to give us a taste of Data but also to acknowledge that Spiner is too old to play him. Spiner doesn't mind playing him if they get around the problems and they did. This is not the one that wanted to die.
