When it comes to the Hasbro Collaboratives, I tend to think of "what would go over best with the crowd of SDCC?". So yeah, 80's/90's nostalgia tends to rule with these things (admittedly that's what I want too!). I'm also hoping for '89 Batmobile. For MOTU I'm expecting Heman & Skeletor, though...

Watching the footage now, it all looks horrifying. A travelling band called The Bergomot did a mini doc about their attempts to escape Helene, watching it rn on youtube. Seems pretty harrowing. My heart goes out to everyone in the region.

I can never decide if I like AOD or ED2 better. I do love how over the top AOD is though.

I still feel like we need two commanders a year to get through all the big guys (it's been moving this way a bit, but it's still one every say nine months, instead of every six months). Especially if they want to do all the combiner leaders and truck bots in that scale.

Oh I remember the X-Files set had some cool holograms. The new binder in this kickstarter looks pretty alright, though it's definitely 2x what it should cost. I wonder if that will be available at retail too?

They've now made like 9x their funding goals, so SOMEONE is buying these. The cards look a lot like the old 80's card set, using a lot of the packaging art with coloured backgrounds, but that set used some images from the cartoon and this one seems to be focused on toy and comic art.

IIRC it was the "G3" trailer, where the side panels folded out into mirrored/chromed sides, which gave off the illusion that the trailer had gone into subspace.

The early 'aughts were really good for giving us completely different character designs for Op & Megs. People complained, but in the end it was a gift!

Yeah, I don't think TRU is doing very well. A couple of years ago they replaced the video game sections with graphic novels and funko pops, now it seems like an HMV pop up store where that used to be. A lot of fuss just to bring in a bunch of DVD's (yes, DVD's).

The Euro G1 stuff was available in Canada though! We lived with it alongside regular G2 stuff. The Predators were also in Last Stand of the Wreckers, and Skyquake showed up in a ton of background shots in various IDW comics. I've always been surprised that the kids that grew up in late G1 & G2...
