Transformers: One - New Animated Prequel coming September 20th, 2024 - New Toy Official Images!

I can understand that; I like the GI Joe 5-parters, but they are not truly the best of the series (and, honestly, Pyramid of Darkness, the worst of the 3, has some of my favorite moments in the series, so 🤷)

Transformers: One - New Animated Prequel coming September 20th, 2024 - New Toy Official Images!

I guess it's important to distinguish between Good, Popular, and Successful, and remember that the three are not necessarily going to converge. I'm personally proud to be out of tune with the younger generation. Honestly, the GI Joe toon is better-written than Transformers, but there's still...

Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

Probably for the same reason I say I am a Transformer collector and not a Gobot collector: recognition. If I say I'm a Transformer collector, there's a better chance the casual observer will know what I'm talking about. My earliest experiences with video rental came from local mom and pop...

Trans Formers 40 - When Did You Start Watching Trans Formers

I was born in 1981, and GI Joe, Transformers, and Gobots were all part of my childhood. I can't pinpoint the exact moment in time, but I do know that I was definitely into Transformers and Gobots by my 4th birthday, so 1985 at the latest. Watched the G1 show on broadcast, then VHS from local...

It looks like something that belongs in the movie "Damnation Alley", and has all the reputation for quality of a Yugo.

Transformers: Age of the Primes toyline discussion || update: Wave 1 Box Art

Easy: Stuff we don't like is Fanfic. Stuff we do like is Canon. Until it isn't. Rinse and repeat. In all seriousness though, the only reason any of this was an issue was the Wiki. Sorenson wasn't gaming Hasbro's system (which boils down to "this is what the story is right now, but it might...

Transformers: Age of the Primes toyline discussion || update: Wave 1 Box Art

I'd have to dig mine out, but I seem to recall that it was tricky to get all the parts to line up to form the nose of the jet, particularly the cockpit, as it was on a little strut that didn't like to cooperate. More frustrating was Laserbeak, as he had all these tiny bits to reposition. As far...

Transformers: Age of the Primes toyline discussion || update: Wave 1 Box Art

Was Jim actually aware that FunPub was planning to name the FFoD Bots? Like, he named them in the Almanac specifically to thumb his nose at the FunPub crew? Or was it another case like Ironfist where two separate groups simultaneously decided to use obscure underused characters, and Sorenson...

Post Pictures of your Transformers, Let's see 40 years worth of Transformers!

I would assume the Beast Battle Masters are off-limits for non-movie redecos, otherwise Airrazor would make a decent Rav/Chro base mold. Could even make a similar weapon mode. Otherwise, I approve of any and all redecos to add to the Cassette minibot ranks!

The next version of the 13 should all reinterpret them to reference Gobots, as the true progenitors of the Cybertronians! :-p

This also makes the Jurassic Park Crossover set $14.99, so if you haven't picked it up yet, now's a great time! Our nearest Ollie's had a few stocked tonight that weren't there the last time we went, so it wouldn't hurt to check again right now!

The most recent one I can remember getting is the knockoff Prime Terrorcon set at Family Dollar. Besides that, it has been years since I've found any decent knockoff transforming figures at the usual discount stores. (EDIT: Take that back, there was also some combiner KOs at Tuesday Morning a...

How To Train Your Dragon: "Live action movie coming June 13th"

When you think about it, remakes have been a thing since the dawn of movies. Not to jump genres, but Bela Lugosi's Dracula wasn't the first, and I'm sure nobody at Hammer Studios said "cor, blimey, the Yanks already did Dracula and Frankenstein, better film somethin' else" But, usually, there...

Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

"You can tell your son about it when he's born, Major Spielberg" Other than the gratuitous slaughter of the American soldiers on Lagos, that movie is a heck of a ride. I do think the Heisei films take themselves too seriously, but all the kaiju designs and redesigns are fun, and it is still my...

I loved when they had the oversized Machine Robo Rescue combiners! And then there was the really off-the-wall stuff; I know somewhere I have a combiner that uses oversized Legends Vector Prime and Cyb Starscreams for limbs. Maybe the bugs were single packs, but for some reason I only remember...
